The Jangdo Wood Bridge stretches over 150m with a width of
over 304m. It links with the Jangdo Cheonghaejin, which is
National Cultural Property No. 308. Twelve centuries ago, Jando
used to be the center of intermediate trade in Northeast Asia
connecting Silla, Japan, and the Tang Dynasty. Being closed to
the National Cultural Property, the bridge makers avoided using
cement and steel, but relied on wood. It is expected to be
completed on October 30, 2009.
