It has been pointed out how a new district office is necessary to
resolve inconveniences, such as safety risks, inadequate
environment and restriction of space raised by decrepit conditions
of the existing building. The new district office is designed to solve
those problems, and to be a landmark of Daejeon Dong-gu District
with the value of public service as well as functional satisfaction.
The dynamic arch-gateway, inspired by the scenic beauty of
sunset, represents the bright future of Daejeon, while its potential
energy is expressed by intense but soft curves and concise
beelines.


It introduces sustainable public environment with outdoor
recreation spaces and large areas of greenery such as roof gardens,
in order to deliver urban sustainability in the city center. The
location of public open space is designed to enhance public
access, and symbolic illumination is expected to encourage the
local pride. It also delivers energy savings and cost-efficient
maintenance by using new renewable of energy sources &
systems; geothermal heat pump, solar panels and building
integrated photovoltaics(BIPV). The design challenge will be
developed into an iconic landmark in Daejeon which presents a
prosperous future of Daejeon, and drives a paradigm shift in public
services and excellence in community participation.


무영 A&E 기존 건물의 노후화로 인해 제기된 안전 문제, 불충분한 환경, 공간 제약 등의 불편함을 해결하기 위해 새로운 구청 건물이 필요하다는 지적이 있어 왔습니다. 새로운 동구청사는 이러한 문제를 해결하고, 기능적 만족도뿐만 아니라 공공 서비스의 가치를 담아 대전 동구의 랜드마크가 될 수 있도록 설계되었습니다. 역동적인 아치형 게이트는 석양의 아름다움에서 영감을 받아 대전의 밝은 미래를 상징하며, 강렬하지만 부드러운 곡선과 간결한 직선으로 잠재적인 에너지를 표현하고 있습니다. 이 설계는 도심의 지속 가능성을 전달하기 위해 옥상 정원과 같은 대규모 녹지 공간과 야외 휴게 공간을 포함한 지속 가능한 공공 환경을 도입합니다. 공공 개방 공간의 위치는 대중 접근성을 향상시키기 위해 설계되었으며, 상징적인 조명은 지역 자부심을 고취시킬 것으로 기대됩니다. 또한, 지열 히트 펌프, 태양광 패널 및 건물 일체형 태양광 발전 시스템(BIPV)과 같은 신재생 에너지 자원 및 시스템을 사용하여 에너지 절약 및 비용 효율적인 유지 관리를 제공합니다. 이 디자인은 대전의 번영하는 미래를 제시하고 공공 서비스의 패러다임 전환과 지역사회 참여의 우수성을 이끄는 상징적인 랜드마크로 발전할 것입니다.
